Council President, Michael A. Seward explained that $10,000 was the 2017 Budget amount appropriated in the Rainy Day Fund and $17,833 is needed to finance the local match of the Blight Clearance Project Grant.  In addition, the Town Attorney receives an annual retainer and $10,000 was the 2017 Budget amount appropriated from the General Fund for legal services; and currently the remaining retainer balance is approximately $2,500.  Mrs. Seward added that the additional appropriation request of $5,000 will be treated as a reserve and will be expended upon exhaustion of the current retainer; and if all funds are exhausted from the retainer prior to year-end.   Resident Billy Sallee then inquired as to what happens to the funds if they are not expended.  The Clerk-Treasurer, Tammy L. Seward stated that the funds will remain in the Rainy Day Fund.
